Yep. If the house was so close, why didn't the motorist knock on the door? Odds were very good that's where the dog lived. I hope the injured man recovers, but it's not a kindness to try to put down an animal with a machete and a hammer, it's just an additional cruelty.

Put it out of its misery, sure. A hammer and machete though?

This guy (dog killer wannabe) is an idiot. Just because he's crying out in pain, doesn't mean the injuries are life threatening. A machete and hammer? Yea, I would have done what the dog owner did. Someone attacking my dog with a machete and hammer, DAMN STRAIGHT I would protect my Dog!

Knock on doors, take to a vet, call police, call animal control. All viable solutions. Grabbing a machete and hammer is just down right cruelty.

I hope he's charged, and I hope the dog owner is released from prison.

Seems like a vet would be option 1, and I seroiusly doubt when I could not find a vet I would grab the nearest hammer.

OK, well the guy that was attacking the dog might have permanent brain damage.

And the dog is probably going to die.

I hope they both go to jail for being cruel idiots.
