Okay, I've never been pregnant, but how do YOU not know that you are still pregnant? I'm sure that the expanding belly and movement inside should have given her a clue before she actually gave birth.

Not to mention that I was under the impression there were tests done to the removed tissue to insure the abortion was succesful. They also use the same test to confirm miscarriages..that's the only reason I know about it.

Yes, but by that time it may have too late, and abortion at that time of the pregnancy may have been illegal.

I have to wonder what kind of psychological effect this will have on the kid if she ever finds out.

It wasn't until over a month after my abortion that I began feeling somewhat unpregnant. It's kind of like the phantom limbs of amputees. By the time I stopped feeling pregnant, it would have been too late to abort.

If it was her first pregnancy, she might not have noticed the movement for quite awhile. When the baby first starts kicking it just feels like gas bubbles moving around or something. Also with your first pregnancy, a LOT of women don't even start to show very much until past their 6th month. From the sound of the article, she finally found out she was pregnant in late Sep.- and judging from the time the baby was born, that means she found out for sure when she was around 6.5 or 7 months pregnant.

If it were me, I think I would feel it was meant to be, at this point, and that there was something very special about the little girl she gave birth to. She probably does feel that way, but is just struggling to get by.

Agreed. Though, I'd probably sue if I were in her position too.

uhh. if she didn't want or couldn't afford the baby, why wasn't adoption considered? i hope that little girl never finds out what a douche bag her mother is.

i can understand the legal situation, but still. if she chose to continue to raise her daughter, she is responsible for that decision, and the costs that come with it. i think planned parenthood owes her money for screwing up, sure, but i don't think they owe her a continual sum for the raising of her child. that's just ridiculous.

Whether or not you considered (or tried) an abortion early in your pregnancy, the emotions are a hell of a lot different after you've carried and given birth to the child. It's one thing to abort a pregnancy, it's entirely another to give birth to your baby and then give it away to a stranger.
I'm not sure anyone can even begin to relate to the gamut of emotions she's probably been through in the last year or so.
She said she got an abortion because she couldn't afford a child. The doctors screwed up, big time, and I'm surprised they don't feel obligated to help her and the baby.

I think too, the child is meant to be, for whatever reason.

I wanna know how you can look at the child in the eye and want help for child rearing at the same time. Where is that womans compassion? Does she have an OUNCE of it? Whatever will she tell that child later on in life?

*sigh*
