Absolutely stunning.

There's a thriving coyote population on base, and they have no fear of humans, but I've never been afraid of them. Very strange for them to attack a human, makes me wonder what else was going on.

Stranger still that she was hiking alone in unfamiliar territory. I'm not saying she deserved to die at all; but it's certainly dangerous to tempt fate.

Listened to some of her music from her Myspace page. Taylor Mitchell was her name.

Reports had her wearing her ipod, possibly she was singing as she walked and didn't notice her own effect on wildlife not used to the sounds she was making. I'm guessing, but I live near hundreds of coyotes and its pretty easy to rile them up and to get them very agitated by making loud vocal noises. You can howl outside on a moonlit night just a few times and get entire packs of them whoop-whooping in response all around you.

I've hiked the trail she was on, its spectacular, hiked by dozens, sometimes hundreds I'm guessing on any fall day, there just wasn't any reason for her to fear for her life. Its a sad freaky thing.
