Do chimps grieve?
Do chimps grieve?
Look at this picture, then you tell me.

They're observing as the body of an elder troop member named Dorothy is taken to burial. She died at 40 years of age, which is pretty old for a chimpanzee. picked by bingo 4 weeks ago

I believe that dogs even grieve. Chimps aren't too far removed from us humans. I'm sure they grieve. I have no scientific facts to prove that of course.

Wow, very nice photo! I don't doubt for a second that chimps grieve. Cats, dogs and many other 'less intelligent' animals grieve, so why not chimps who are considered much more intelligent?

Amazing photo. I choked up. But I cannot help wondering when we will stop with this idea about being surprised or in denial when animals show emotion. Of course they have emotions! For cripes sake its so freeking obvious that only if you need to EAT the animal in question should you even doubt it.
