When I was your age... Posted: 12 months ago by
In response to all the wonderful posts from folks to the news story about the "abused" kids who had to walk a mile and a half to the school. Who can come up with the best "when I was your age" story? How bad was your childhood? How much tougher were kids in your day? My personal favorite: "When I was a kid we had to walk 30 miles to school, barefoot. When it snowed we wrapped barbwire around our feet for traction!"...

Have You Ever Noticed? Posted: 2 months ago by
This is a little game I came up with in my head that I think might be fun. Post things in here you've noticed about life, objects, or things in general that are just plain weird or odd. Example: Have you ever noticed that when eating Alphabet cereal all the vowels congregate together? or Have you ever noticed there are many similarities between the stories of Hercules and Jesus? Annnnnnnnnnnnnd GO!!!...

Implants.... Posted: 9 months ago by
The question for both male and female Plimates/Plimettes alike: Do you like fake boobies? Plimers: Would you encourage your (hypothetical) small-chested girlfriend to get a set of implants? Would you discourage her? Support her either way? Plimettes: Would you get a bigger, firmer set if the opportunity arose? What you be more inclined to if your partner made a comment about your chest and the awesomeness of implants/big boobies? **excluded from this are any circumstances surrounding reconstructi...

My friend lived in a VERY old house. He was convinced it was haunted. I never gave it much consideration until I spent an evening over there. We were the only ones in the house, yet we heard people running back and forth on the floor above us and saw what looked like hands gripping the ra...

Prayer Posted: 5 months ago by
My wife is religious. She believes in prayer and does so on a regular basis. I however am deeply confused by the whole subject. As far as I can tell you pray for one of the following reasons: 1) To praise God. 2) To ask for things (for yourself or on behalf of someone else). As far as I feel - the first reason is the only real reason to pray. Whether you believe in God or not, however you believe you came by your good situation, stopping to appreciate what you have is a good mental excercise. It`s the ...

question about the legality of dumpster diving at goodwill Posted: 1 year ago by
i am a plimate but would like to remain anonymous. i went to goodwill tonight. there was a trash compactor and around the trash compactor there was a lot of random stuff. goodwill has too much stuff and they cant put it all in their store so they throw it away. its amazing how much goes to waste. i found some shoes and a hiking bag in mint condition and some other odds and ends. i was thinking about doing this every weekend and having a yard sale every couple of months. there is a lot of really good stuff...

Lincoln-Douglas Debate Thread Posted: 5 months ago by
There are some threads discussing contentious issues, like the God Matters thread , and suchlike. I've had the idea that formal debates could be organized based on various topics which have been discussed on Plime. Or, to be more specific, I wanted to try Lincoln-Douglas Debates on a thread, as I think it would be an interesting experiment. The way this would work is that I would find an issue somewhere that was discussed on a thread in some sort of debate or argument. Then I would invite the people i...

Gag Gifts Help Posted: 12 months ago by
I need some ideas for 2 different gag gifts. Both parties play the " dirty Santa " game Unfortunately, I can't order anything online as both parties are within the next 5 days. Tomorrow night, I'm going to a big party that a friend of mine has every year. Lots of booze, all adults, pretty much anything goes. Then Monday, we have our department party. Pretty reserved, nothing NSFW is allowed. I know I can just browse Spencers in the mall....but I want something unique that will stand out...

The difference of a few seconds. Posted: 3 years ago by
From time to time I get to thinking about how huge a difference a few seconds can make in our lives. Today I experienced another instance of this phenomenon. Today as our shifts at work were overlapping, I showed the daytime supervisor the Batman on Drugs video as he was on his way out the door. He was amused by the stupidity of it all, just as many of us were. We laughed and said goodbye and he left for the day. On his way home he ran into a deer (with his car). He sustained no real injuries save for ...

You go to Google image search and copy from a Japanese website random Japanese letters into the search box (I suggest using around 2-3 to get a good number of results). Point system is based on counting how many images you see until you find one that makes you wish you had some eyebleach at hand. 10 images: 1000 points (last image of second line) 9 images: 100 points (4th image of second line) 8 images: 10 points (third image of second line) 7 images: 1 point (second image of second line) under 7 or over...

Figuratively Speaking... Potentially NSFW language! Posted: 1 year ago by
From deep inside the sick mind of Kero, thoughts are brewing... I know that people get angry. And when people get angry, they say things. Perhaps people have an overly descriptive vocabulary and they say things. Things such as phrases, that are said figuratively to mean one thing, either as a description or rant, or otherwise... I would like to use this thread to discuss the physical implications of figurative phrases... My personal favorite is: Ripping someone a new @sshole Now, everyone knows ...
